About Dear Diary
Your private world, beautifully told.
Why we built this
Most people want to keep a diary. Few people actually do — not because they lack the desire, but because staring at a blank page after a long day is hard. You know something meaningful happened; you just can't find the words.
Dear Diary was built to close that gap. Jot a few rough notes, speak a sentence or two, or simply upload the photos from your day — and the app turns them into a beautifully written diary entry that sounds like you, not a robot.
What we believe
- —Your memories belong to you. Everything you write is private by default. We do not read your entries, sell your data, or use your personal writing to train AI models.
- —Writing is thinking. The act of writing — even with AI assistance — helps you process what happened, understand how you felt, and remember what mattered.
- —Beauty matters. A diary you love to open is a diary you actually keep. We care deeply about the craft of the writing and the feel of the experience.
- —Small moments deserve to be saved. Not every entry needs to be about a major life event. The Tuesday morning coffee, the overheard conversation, the walk home — those are the details you'll want back.
The team
Dear Diary is an independent product built by a small team that cares about journaling, good writing, and building software that respects the people who use it.
We are based across multiple time zones and united by the belief that the best technology is the kind that gets out of your way and lets you focus on what matters.
